In order to ensure that new international students are able quickly and effectively to settle in with minimal problems, UKZN should:

• Where appropriate, arrange for students to be welcomed on arrival at point of entry into the city or centre in which the institutions are located.
• Provide suitable orientation programmes which will seek to re-inforce material already provided in written form ; and 
• Where necessary, make appropriate arrangements for temporary accommodation for the students.
